Mercer County Upsets East Jessamine in Double Overtime



Mercer County moved on to the 46th district final with an upset win over East Jessamine 89-80 in double overtime.

The Titans, who lost at East Jessamine 90-76 on Jan. 26th, played even with the Jaguars the entire game until they outscored the home team 15-6 in the 2nd overtime to earn a trip to the district finals.

Freshman Will Hager had 22 points, senior Blake Pennington 21 and senior John Ingram 20 points to lead Mercer County.

East Jessamine was led in scoring by Ronnie Carson's 26 points.

Mercer County will play West Jessamine Thursday at 7pm at East Jessamine for the 46th district championship.
