Cordia's Big 3rd Quarter Too Much for Letcher Central as Lions Advance to 53rd Final

Letcher Central looked like they had Cordia's number in the first half as they pounded the boards, kept the pace to a minimum, and led 23-19 at the half.

Cordia head coach Rodrick Rhodes decided to speed up the game in the second half, putting pressure on the basketball full court, and the rest was history.

Cordia outscored Letcher Central 24-9 in the 3rd quarter, using quickness to cause turnovers and make the game a track meet, and the Lions moved on to the 53rd district finals with a 73-43 win.

Lions' senior center Dondre Warren jump started his teammates with hustle and his non-stop rebounding as he finished with 17 points and 15 rebounds. A.J. Tagoloa and Marlon King both had 14 points.

Emmanuel Owootoah had 10 points, 8 assists, and 5 steals while West Virginia's Bob Huggins and Villanova assistant Raphael Chillious were in attendance to evaluate him.

Letcher Central was led in scoring by Sam Robinson's 15 points.
