Tuesday Night Thunder Scoreboard
It is hard for The Road to Rupp crew to get out and cover high school hoops when the Kentucky Wildcats play, but we will do the best we can to keep you covered with the big games of the night.
Here are the games that brought the thunder last night:
Holmes traveled to Maysville to play the Mason County Royals and try and go to a perfect 19-0. The Bulldogs used a big 23-12 first quarter and then held on to stay the only undefeated team in the state. Daquan Palmer and Quentin Chames led Jason Booher's team with 16 points, Mason County was led in scoring by Shawn Johnson's 14.
The 11th region All A Classic started today at Sayre and Lexington Christian cruised to an opening round 64-42 win. The Eagles were led in scoring by point guard Tyler Harville's 21 points. Lexington Christian will now play Sayre Thursday night at 8pm.
Southwestern's David Kapinga scored 28 points and Isaiah Collier added 20 as the Warriors broke a 2 game losing streak and beat Russell County 78-64. Steve Wright's club built a 44-33 lead at the half and the Lakers couldn't recover. Russell County was led in scoring by Tyler Robertson's 21 points. Southwestern improved to 14-5 and Russell County dropped to 13-3.
Dominique Hawkins had 31 and Ken-Jah Bosley had 27 as Madison Central beat West Jessamine 85-65. The Colts jumped out to a 15-9 lead after the 1st quarter and led 32-26 at halftime. Madison Central came out of the locker room fired up as they outscored West Jessamine 25-14 in the 3rd and 28-15 in the 4th to complete the comeback and get the win. Chase Fain led the Colts with 23 points.
