Holmes went to 20-0 as they beat Scott 60-59. Holmes' Chris Englemon hit 2 free throws with 3 seconds left to keep the Bulldogs undefeated. Jason Booher's next game is Jan. 22nd at Ryle.
The Bryan Station Defenders made known they are a legit 11th region contender last night as they won at Henry Clay 56-54. Larry Morton scored 22 for the Defenders. This was Mike Allen's team's 6 win in a row and has wins over Lafayette, Scott County, and now the Blue Devils.
The Sheldon Clark Cardinals beat Lawrence County on the road last night 64-59. The Bulldogs 6 game losing streak was ended and now play in the 15th region All A Classic finals Saturday night vs. Pikeville. The 57th district is wide open, especially with Johnson Central's Shane Hall in and out of the lineup with "injuries."
Russell won the 16th region All A Classic last night with a 72-44 win over Elliott County. Russell will play the winner of Region 3 Thursday at 11:30am.
The Road to Rupp Weekend Coverage
This weekend will be full of high school basketball coverage as Scott Anderson and Anthony Wireman will be in Breathitt County tonight to watch Cordia play Knott Central in the 14th region All A Classic. They will also be going to Pikeville on Saturday for the 15th region All A final that has Pikeville playing Lawrence County for the trip to Frankfort.
Ashley Scoby and Regina Rickert will be at Henry Clay on Saturday covering the Al Prewitt Classic. Here is the schedule for all the action:
