Louisville Holy Cross Hits Two Buzzer Beaters to Beat Central Hardin

Louisville Holy Cross hit two buzzer beaters, one at the end of regulation and another at the end of the second overtime, to beat Central Hardin 64-61.

Central Hardin had a 34-29 lead at the half, but the story was Holy Cross' Jack Schmitt, as he hit 6 threes and scored 23 points to keep the Cougars within striking distance.

Holy Cross' Dominique Mack was the story in the second half, including the two overtime periods, as he scored 17 points for a total of 19. He also grabbed 11 rebounds.

Central Hardin was led by Dillon Glenn's 19 points. Andy Kerr finished with 14.

The game had about as an exciting finish you can have as Holy Cross' Norman Ellis drilled a 3 at the end of regulation to put the game into overtime.

The second overtime was rather uneventful, seeing both teams score only a basket a piece, but it did lead to a very exciting second extra frame.

In the second overtime, Holy Cross was down 2 with 9.3 seconds left. The Cougars' point guard Norman Ellis drove the lane and tried to lift a game tying shot with 3.1 seconds but was fouled. Ellis walked calmly to the line and knocked down both shots to tie the game at 61.

Central Hardin called timeout to try and draw up a play to get the ball down the floor and throw up a desperation heave, but it didn't turn out the way head coach James Wright drew it up.

The Bruins Cody Elmore launched a pass to half court, but it was intercepted by Kenny Williams, then passed to Dominique Mack for this unbelievable shot for the win and their only lead of the game.

Holy Cross improved to 5-15 and will play Pikeville in the All A Classic this Thursday at 5pm at the Frankfort Civic Center.

Central Hardin dropped to 8-8 and will play at home tonight vs. South Oldham at 7:30.
