Holy Cross Righteous from the Three to Move Past Pikeville

Louisville Holy Cross was hot from behind the arc as they beat Pikeville's inside game 65-60.

The tandem of Jack Schmitt and Dominique Mack combined for 47 points, but they also had help from their teammates to get the win.

Pikeville's Ray Kasongo had a huge night, scoring 32 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, and blocked 7 shots. Ethan Rowe had 19 but it wasn't near enough for the Panthers to overcome the Cougars hot shooting.

Holy Cross was 8-15 from behind the arc for a sizzling 53.3%.  Pikeville was 4-11 for 36.4%.

There was also a big disparity in free throws attempted and made as Holy Cross was 19-30 and Pikeville was just 2-7, with Ray Kasongo attempting every one.

It just wasn't Pikeville's night and Holy Cross played a very good game, led by Schmitt and Mack.

Holy Cross will play the winner of Newport Catholic/Somerset Friday night at 8pm.
