Bryan Station Upsets #4 Scott County in District Battle


The Bryan Station Defenders stayed hot, winning their 5 straight game, as they beat the #4 ranked Scott County Cardinals 69-62.

The Defenders beat their second straight top 25 team, beating Lafayette last night, and getting their first win over Scott County since 2008.

Larry Morton was the story in the first half for Bryan Station, hitting three 3s while scoring 13 points, as Bryan Station battled to a knotted score of 28. Scott County's Jalen Haddix led the Cardinals with 12 at the half. 

Scott County couldn't ever get it going from the outside, shooting a dismal 2-17 from the three for a frigid 11.8%. Bryan Station used the outside shot to their advantage, knocking down 7 of 19 from behind the arc, led by Marcellous Washington's three home runs in the second half.

Morton had a double double, finishing with 23 and 11 rebounds. Washington had 15, with 13 coming in the second half. Jordan Henry was 14 of 16 from the free throw line, finishing with 16.

Bryan Station improved to 11-5, while Scott County dropped to 11-5.
