Betsy Layne Holds On in Overtime to Beat South Floyd

The defending 15th region All A Champion Betsy Layne Bobcats had more than they bargained for Friday night as they slipped past South Floyd in overtime 66-64.

The Bobcats were led in scoring by Dylan Meade's 30 points which included 4 of the 6 points his team scored in overtime.

South Floyd  trailed 52-44 at the end of the 3rd quarter, but Austin Bailey drilled three from behind the arc to bring the Raiders within 2 with under 10 seconds left in the game. Dakota Justice capped off the run with a runner in the lane with 2.3 seconds on the clock to push the game to overtime.

The game was back and forth in the extra frame, but South Floyd was 0-5 from the free throw line, and Betsy Layne capitalized and held on for the victory.
